School crossing guard is hit by car

Accident

A school crossing guard was hit by a sedan Friday outside a Las Vegas elementary school, Metro Police officials said.

The accident occurred after school let out at Roger M. Bryan Elementary School around 3:30 p.m. Officials said a sedan struck the crossing guard at the intersection of Cimarron and Flamingo roads.

The crossing guard was taken to an area hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, officials said. No one else was injured.

School crossing guards work for a company subcontracted out by Metro Police.

Metro Police are investigating the incident.
