Democratic leaders give thumbs down to legalizing prostitution in Clark County

Veteran brothels lobbyist George Flint may have wanted his final coup de grace to be the legalization of prostitution in Clark County, but he won't have the Legislature's two most powerful lawmakers on his side. Assembly Speaker Marilyn Kirkpatrick, D-North Las Vegas, said she would like to see the details of any proposal to legalize prostitution in Nevada's largest county. But when pressed, she admitted she ultimately wouldn't support it. Her counterpart in the Senate, Majority Leader Mo Denis, D-Las Vegas, had a similar sentiment.   1. Thumbs down on legal prostitution means they support continued illegal prostitution. Way to go Kirkpatrick and Denis!

  3. @streaker is totally right. It takes courage to change things and NOT ONE elected official in this state has any. They should change Clark County to Ostrich County.

  4. Bad move Ms. Kirkpatrick. Why wouldn't you and Denis push for this instead of bleeding more taxes out of the businesses that are still open and the working people that support this state. If you really want to do your job you should push to get this legalized in Clark.
