Fatal, head-on collision causing traffic delays on I-15 near Bunkerville

Vicinity of accident

A fatal, head-on collision involving a tractor-trailer and another vehicle has brought traffic delays on Interstate 15 near Bunkerville, about 70 miles northeast of Las Vegas.

Nevada Highway Patrol Trooper Jeremie Elliott said dispatchers had received a report of a southbound vehicle traveling in the northbound lanes of the interstate near the Nevada-Arizona state line. At noon, a Dodge pickup struck a tractor-trailer pulling a double load near mile marker 112. Troopers on the scene reported at least one fatality.

Elliott said northbound traffic was being rerouted to State Route 170 through Bunkerville. Southbound lanes were closed at the scene.
