Washington — Nevada Rep. Steven Horsford co-hosted an hour of testimonials by members of the Congressional Black Caucus on Monday night, on the 100th anniversary of Rosa Parks’ birthday, to draw attention to immigration reform, which they defined as a civil rights issue in her legacy. “[Immigration reform] is the civil and human rights issue of our generation, just like the civil rights issues of the '60s that was fought by African-Americans, and the civil rights issue of women before it,” Horsford said. Immigration reform, he added, “must be advocated by all who believe in a sense of justice, equality and opportunity ...

Oh good grief... who's heading up the White Caucus, the Brown Caucus, the Yellow Caucus.... surely we do NOT need to separate 'caucus's' by color do we really?
Again, the dangerous leftists intentionally try to confuse legal immigration with illegal immigration, the the media lets them get away with it.
You are complicit.
What does Rosa Parks have to do with this? Was she an illegal immigrant?
Of course not---all the while the leftists in the media let their leftists friends in politics get away with confusing this issue.
Complicit.
Hey, Karoun, why don't you call Horsford for confusing this issue by mixing legal immigration with illegal immigration?
You must not want to. Complicit.
Steven * the handicap parker * Horsford...
Oppression knows no color limitations, first of all.
In my mind, to join any particular color ethnic group and raise the political banner, only CONTINUES segregation and racism, something we don't want and had fought for years to erradicate.
The Civil Rights Movement was about any and ALL people who were discriminated against. It was NOT all about Black-African-Americans. NOT. Horsford would selectively omit the millions of Jews, who supported the Civil Rights Movement, who tirelessly marched and stood with all who demanded liberty, freedom, and equality for all.
It saddens me to watch now Senator Horsford continues to bring lines of division in our government. It both astounds me and concerns me that Senator Horsford cannot make the distinction between LEGAL immigration and ILLEGAL immigration. Horsford's Black Caucus agenda only serves the Black Community, a position that will taint any meaningful legislation to improve US Immigration policy, and will only move us backwards in time, rather than improve the present and future. WOW!
Let's focus on those who are willing to legally enter and reside in the USA, helping those who are legally abiding by our country's laws. It is NOT about color immigration for God's sake. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would never be so narrow minded nor prejudiced.
Blessings and Peace,

We do NOT tear families apart. Sons and daughters desert their families when they invade our nation. The illegals will keep invading until we stop paying them to come here. How would Mr. Horsford feel if he comprehended that we're taking food from our grandmothers to feed illegals and all the kids they have? Americans often don't "qualify" for LIHEA utility grants but the illegals often do--because it's based on family size legal or not. Ditto the scavenging of every last package of food at the food banks.
When will all Americans do the math? We cannot fund everything for everyone. How about prioritizing Americans who have worked and worked and paid for all the benies we're dumping on those who spit on our laws.
psst. I'm in the pink caucus. Red and white with spices of other dna.
Great article . A good, factual report, unlike the comments posted on this page. Lovinglife just learned the word, "complicit," guess he's going to use it for every single comment. Complicit!
