Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run on Sahara

Police are investigating a hit-and-run collision after a pedestrian was struck and killed early Sunday.

The person was hit around 1:40 a.m. on Sahara Avenue near Tam Drive, Metro Police said. The vehicle was traveling west on Sahara in the right lane when the person entered the lane and either fell or lay down, police said.

This is the 16th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction in 2013, police said. The crash remains under investigation.
