RENO — The manhunt for a Carson City murder suspect has apparently ended in suicide.
Police say 22-year-old Dylan Brentlinger fatally shot himself when he was confronted by officers at a Reno park Monday afternoon.
Brentlinger was wanted in the shooting of his ex-girlfriend and killing of her father at a Carson City home on Saturday.
Reno Police Lt. William Rulla told the Reno Gazette-Journal that Brentlinger's father alerted police Monday that his son had been staying at his Reno home.
Officers spotted him at Manzanita Park about 1 p.m. and spent about four minutes trying to talk him into surrendering before he turned his gun on himself.
The victims' names have not been released. The 19-year-old woman remains at Renown Regional Medical Center but authorities say she is expected to survive.
