The writer of the Dec. 9 letter “Republicans, history and ACA” defends Obamacare to the point of unmitigated denial. He cites Social Security and Medicare as shining examples of programs that work and have provided dignity to the American people.
These programs were both passed into law with huge Democrat majorities and signed by Democrat presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Lyndon Johnson. And today, they are the main drivers of our $17 trillion debt.
Obamacare will affect every American citizen personally and every socio-economic sector of our economy.
The only ones who expect this program to work are those who are uninformed about the consequences or those who are in complete denial with regard to the No. 1 problem facing our country: that the government spends far more money than it takes in.
