Reno school janitor named nation’s best in contest

RENO — Turns out the nation's top janitor works at a Reno high school.

Cintas Corporation announced this week that Patrick Peterson of North Valleys High School is the winner of its 2013 Janitor of the Year contest. The uniform and janitorial supply company held an online contest and chose the winners after some 95,000 votes were cast.

The company says Peterson is the first to arrive at school every day, sometimes coming to work as early as 4 a.m.

Cintas says he's repainted walls and carpeted floors in school colors so students and staff can take pride in the campus.

Peterson's prize includes $2,500 in cash and $2,500 in Cintas products and services for the school.
