Accident
A pedestrian was critically injured this evening after he was hit by a car in front of a green traffic light.
The man, 50, was crossing the street at Boulder Highway and Russell Road shortly before 5 p.m. when he was hit by a blue BMW, Metro Police Lt. John Liberty said. The BMW was driving through a green light, and the pedestrian failed to yield to the motorist’s right of way.
Liberty said the pedestrian was rushed to Sunrise Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the BMW remained at the crash site.
Traffic has been blocked off at the intersection while investigators examine the area.
