Metro Police are looking for a man who stole a cab Thursday after threatening the driver with a gun.

Police said the incident happened at 2:35 a.m. near Tropicana Avenue and Fort Apache Road, about 7 miles south of where the suspect entered the cab.

The suspect called for a cab from a business near Charleston Boulevard and Hualapai Way, police said.

After arriving near Tropicana Avenue and Fort Apache Road, the man became angry and exited the cab, police said. The cab driver got out also, at which point the suspect pulled out a gun and threatened the driver.

The suspect then jumped into the cab and drove away, police said. Authorities later recovered the cab at an undisclosed location.

Authorities described the suspect as a man in his 20s with a medium build and short hair. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap, glasses, light-colored T-shirt and jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Metro’s robbery section at 702-828-3591. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-555 or visit www.crimestoppersofnv.com.
