Thieves stealing valuables from unlocked cars in southwest valley, police say

Metro Police is investigating a spree of auto break-ins in southwest Las Vegas.

The suspects are targeting vehicles in the communities of Southern Highlands, Mountain's Edge and Rhodes Ranch. They are entering through unlocked doors and taking any items of value left inside, police said.

Metro urges residents in the area to lock car doors, take the keys out of the car when parked, hide any belongings in the car, and take valuable items out. Metro also recommends residents to contact local area command for a list of neighborhood watch captains.
