A ninth-inning rally today has the Las Vegas 51s back in sole possession of first place in the Pacific Southern Division standings with about two weeks remaining in the Triple-A season.
Trailing by one run in their last at-bats, the 51s scored four times in the top of the ninth for a 6-3 come-from-behind victory in the final game of a series at host Salt Lake.
With one out in the ninth, Lucas Duda’s run-scoring single evened the score at 3-all. After two Las Vegas walks, Matt den Dekker followed with a bases-clearing hit to cap the rally.
Meanwhile in Sacramento, the host River Cats were defeated for the second straight night by Tucson, falling 7-6 to drop out of a first-place tie with Las Vegas.
The 51s return home to Cashman Field at 7:05 Wednesday to open a five-game series against Fresno.
