Body of missing swimmer found floating in Lake Mohave

A body recovered Sunday from Lake Mohave is that of 23-year-old Donald Soun, who disappeared earlier this month while swimming, the Clark County Coroner’s Office reported.

National Park Service rangers recovered the North Las Vegas man’s body after a park visitor reported finding a body floating in the lake near Cottonwood Cove Road about 6 a.m. Sunday, officials said.

Soun disappeared underwater Aug. 4 about a mile north of Cottonwood Cove after he went for a swim, officials said. He was not wearing a life jacket, officials said.

The National Park Service, Metro Police and the Nevada Department of Wildlife conducted multiple surface and underwater searches for Soun.

The Coroner’s Office has not yet released a cause of death.
