Dog rescued from house fire in east Las Vegas

Firefighters rescued a dog from a fire Sunday that caused about $20,000 damage to a mobile home and residence in east Las Vegas.

Nobody was injured.

Clark County Fire Department firefighters responded to multiple calls of a mobile home on fire at 12:56 p.m. Sunday in the 5100 block of Sheppard Circle, near East Harmon Avenue and Boulder Highway.

They found an older mobile home on fire in a backyard, and the blaze had spread to walls and roof of a house on the property, Deputy Chief Eric Poleski said. The dog was rescued from the house.

Firefighters brought the fire under control within 10 minutes. The trailer was substantially damaged and the house sustained damage to its exterior and two rooms, Poleski said.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
