The Las Vegas 51s beat the host Sacramento RiverCats 9-3 Friday in a Pacific Coast League game.

The 51s took advantage of two Sacramento errors in the third inning to score five unearned runs in taking the lead for good and winning for the second time in as many days to open the season. With two outs and the bases loaded, Sacramento outfielder Michael Choice misplayed the would-be final out of the third inning to allow three Las Vegas runners to score.

Chris Schwinden picked up the pitching victory for Las Vegas, giving up five hits and two runs in 5 and 2/3 innings pitched.

Josh Satin was the lone Las Vegas batter with multiple hits, finishing 2-for-4 with a run scored and RBI. Omar Quintanilla and Travis E. d’Arnaud each scored two runs.

The 51s return to Cashman Field next Friday to host Colorado Springs in the first home game of the season.
