A Clark County Detention Center inmate died Tuesday, four days after corrections officers found him unconscious from an apparent suicide in the jail dormitory’s shower, Metro Police officials said.
An inmate alerted corrections officers about the unconscious man in the jail’s South Tower showers on March 29, police said. Officers and medical staff attempted to resuscitate the inmate and then transferred him to University Medical Center, police said.
The man died four days later.
Metro Police Homicide is investigating the incident. The identity of the man and exact cause of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
