A 21-year-old man suffered head injuries when he failed to yield at a stop sign and his car was struck by a beer truck, Metro Police said.
The truck driver also was taken to the hospital with less serious injuries, police said.
The accident happened at 5:46 a.m. at the intersection of Jones Boulevard and Windmill Lane in the southwest valley, police said.
It appears the car, heading east on Windmill Lane, ran a stop sign and continued through Jones Boulevard, colliding with the Corona beer truck, Metro Lt. Kasey Matthews said.
Both drivers were transported to University Medical Center, Matthews said.
A mile stretch of Jones Boulevard near the Windmill intersection remains closed to traffic as police investigate.

Was the beer okay?
This is going to be really poetic justice if it turns out that the driver was drunk. I hope the truck driver is OK, though.
Was alcohol involved? Why? A 1 mile streach of road.
Ummmmmmmm Beer!
