The ground in the northeast valley rumbled Tuesday morning when an earthquake occurred in the Moapa Valley, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The magnitude 3.8 earthquake struck at 9:03 a.m. about 27 miles northeast of Las Vegas, according to the USGS.
The quake caused light shaking in the area around the epicenter, with a few weak rumbles being felt in the northeastern part of the valley.

I felt it in the northwest end of the valley, too. I was on the fourth floor of a building.
