Man’s body found in desert near Pahrump

A man walking his dog discovered a body in the desert near Pahrump on Friday evening, Nye County Sheriff’s officials said.

Officers identified the body as Pahrump resident David Edward Pucci, but the sheriff is waiting for final confirmation from DNA analysis. The body was found near Bannavitch Street and Betty Avenue.

Officials said the circumstances for his death and why it was found in the desert, several miles from his home, are under investigation.
