Eva Longoria, Sheila E. to campaign with Obama in North Las Vegas

Actress Eva Longoria and percussionist Sheila E. will join President Barack Obama at a rally Thursday in North Las Vegas, the Obama campaign has announced.

Longoria, known for her role as Gabrielle Solis on the ABC television series “Desperate Housewives,” has been a public supporter of the president throughout the campaign season and spoke on Obama’s behalf Oct. 23 at UNLV. Sheila Escovedo is known as Sheila E. and has performed with Prince, Ringo Starr and George Duke.

The rally will take place at Cheyenne Sports Complex, 3500 East Cheyenne Ave. Doors are scheduled to open at 11:30 a.m.

The president will visit Wisconsin, Nevada and Colorado on Thursday as he restarts the campaign after turning his attention to Hurricane Sandy earlier in the week.

Tickets to the North Las Vegas event are free and available to the public on a first-come first-served basis.

Tickets can be picked up 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday (with some extended hours at locations noted below).

  1. I only clicked on this story hoping that there would be pictures. I am disappointed.
    I am also disappointed that President Obama feels the need to try to entice voters with entertainers. Isn't being the President of the United States of America important enough?
