Reliable inside word from Steve Wynn’s executive offices is that he’s not planning to sign another resident country star or entertainer after Garth Brooks ends his three-year run at Encore Theater on Nov. 17.

The theater will remain dark for most of next year except for special concerts on some holiday weekends. But then in 2014, Steve will debut his own production that would start rehearsals next fall in the theater.

He’s not revealing anything just yet but has plotted his own show for the venue, and preliminary plans for its production are underway. The pace of development will pick up in early 2013 as Steve shapes what’s in his mind to reality. I’m told that it’s a unique concept and a vision that only he could create.

“Garth and Steve have become like brothers,” I was told. “But Garth won’t be back as a resident. You might see him here every now and again, but it looks as if he’ll go out on tour for his next big venture.”

Meantime, Shania Twain and her dancers, musicians and production crew have officially moved into the Colosseum at Caesars Palace for a month of rehearsals before her Dec. 1 opening. Vegas DeLuxe posted a preview on Oct. 22. Her official welcome is Nov. 14 at the front fountains of Caesars Palace.

And country remains a Strip favorite when the National Finals Rodeo comes to town Dec. 6, and country super couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill start their run of “Soul2Soul” resident shows at the Venetian on Dec. 7.

  1. Is it just me...

or is Steve Wynn starting to look like another famous Las Vegas resident (now deceased)?
