I was shocked and distressed to see the Sun endorsed Rep. Joe Heck in Congressional District 3. How could you? The Sun has always been the one remaining progressive holdout against the forces of the extreme right wing, which is typified by today’s congressional GOP.
Heck has accomplished almost nothing in his only term in the House, except to vote for every regressive idea put forth by the extreme conservatives who run the party. Heck may be many things, but he certainly is not “reasonable,” as you describe him.
His re-election will further strengthen the forces of regression and repression, whose only real goal is to defeat everything President Barack Obama wants to do to get this country healthy again. Sadly, you have lost complete credibility with this endorsement. Hopefully, the voters of Congressional District 3 will show better judgment than you have.

Heck must have that Vegas juice. He's definitely a tea partying crank. What was with Sebellius supporting him a couple years ago- I guess that's how he got that job with the RJ. Don't trust anybody in elected office that has to hide behind that doctor title. Isn't that old Republican crab from Boulder city Doctor Joe too ?
Paul - So unless the LVS endorses every wild eye socialist progressive trickle-down big government liberal the democrat party throws out there the LVS will lose credibility
Poor Paul. For him, the sky is falling. The LV Rag endorses a zillion leftist crooks, creeps & crackpots and Paul is "shocked & distressed" that they pick a token Republicrat to support. Tell you what, Paul. Go to your nearest polling station and vote against Heck. You have that right. Use it. Me, I'm voting for anyone other than those endorsed by the LV Rag.
Typically, failed one term presidencies bring down the party with it. Such was the case in the mid term elections of 2010 when, using the President's words, the democratic party took a shellacking. Usually, not all the time, mid-terms are a precursor of the upcoming election year results. The 2012 election year is that. Kudos to the Sun for knowing so with Rep Joe Heck, although still getting the choice for president wrong.

Unfortunately, Dr. Heck has no cures for middle income workers or women.
Sure condescending arrogant self dealing physicians are good for democracy.
Maybe if this guy wasn't such a leftwing extremist he would see that Dr Joe Heck is the absolute right choice.
"Don't trust anybody in elected office that has to hide behind that doctor title."
______
What a ridiculous statement, how is Joe Heck "hiding" behind his doctor title? And I know this guy isn't in office right now, but does this go for Howard Dean as well every time he opens his mouth?

Hmmmmmm....I see my little buddy Carmine is still saying that President Obama will not win re-election and the Republicans will win a majority of the races that are being contested...
I wonder what Carmine will say & do once November 6th comes & goes and President Obama not only wins re-election, but the Democrats maintain control of the Senate and pick-up many seats in the House?
If that happens, which I believe it will, don't look for Carmine to spend the entire day, November 7th, posting on this board as he normally does..
His typical day of 20+ posts a day will suddenly cease...
Hey Carmine....
What's the presidential voter break down again? How many electoral votes will Romney win & what percent of the popular vote will he receive?
Hey Carmine....I must ask.
What's the deal with Ohio? Poll after poll shows Obama leading in Ohio. As you may know, but refuse to acknowledge, NO Republican has ever won the White House with out winning Ohio......
Of course, the latest rumor in the streets concerning Romney family money invested in Ohio type voting machines, makes one ponder and reflect back to the Florida election returns of 2000...
Remember what happened in Florida in 2000?
Naw, Romney, being a "good Christian" would never accept the presidency on a "rigged" election, would he?
Why did the Sun endorsed Heck?
Heck has a 10+ point lead.
That is why.
The Sun's inexplicable 'endorsement' of a TeaNut...
What the Heck???
One can only surmise that Dr. Joe got the nod as the 'token teanut' by virtue of the fact that he's probably going to beat Oceguera, and it probably won't be that close. John Oceguera is a REALLY weak candidate for the Democrats.
The heck of it is, Dr. Joe is a weak, ineffectual, lock-step 'R'/'T' vote that does Nevada residents of the 3rd Congressional District a disservice with his rigid, right-wing allegiance.
One here is already preparing for a Romney win. Smart. But practicing excuses and alibis when he does is not.

@ hookershaky...."Sure condescending arrogant self dealing physicians are good for democracy."
Maybe not, but "condescending arrogant self dealing" sycophant 'fire fighters' are even worse.
