Cash-strapped UFL is suspending play until spring

OMAHA, Neb. — The struggling United Football League has announced it is postponing the second half of its season until spring.

Each of the second-tier professional league's four teams has played four of eight regular-season games. UFL founder and chairman William Hambrecht said Saturday that the remaining four games and championship game would be played in the spring.

The UFL plans to return to a fall schedule in 2013.

As of last week, players and coaches had not been paid. Players earn $3,500 per game.

The league said it didn't have sufficient funds to cover the high cost of workers' compensation insurance and other costs. The league said its priority is to pay coaches, players and staffers.

Teams are in Las Vegas, Omaha, Sacramento, and Norfolk, Va.

The League is owned and operated by Mr. Nancy Pelosi. The former Democrat Speaker of the House is just as much an owner as her husband. In California all property and stock is community property.

How can Nancy let these players go unpaid and now laid off from their jobs after dedicating themselves to the company?

Just more of the 1% Pelosi messing over the 99% players who were suppose to get $3,500 a week but now have nothing. Not even the pay they earned.
