Reality TV star and Las Vegas darling Holly Madison’s one-time assistant Angel Porrino, who also has graced the pages of Playboy, is about to step into her former boss’s high-heeled shoes as Bo Peep in “Peepshow” at Planet Hollywood. Angel, who starred with Holly in “Holly’s World,” starts Oct. 22 and will perform through Dec. 2.
Rapper and actor Ice-T’s curvy and buxom wife Coco, aka Nicole Austin, takes over as Bo Peep starting Dec. 3 and continues through March, when it’s likely that another guest star will be added. I am talking with Coco today, and we’ll post that interview Wednesday.
Angel, who has been a tap-dancing topless weather balloon girl in “Absinthe” across the Strip at Caesars Palace, said: “I am thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to join such an amazing pool of talented performers in ‘Peepshow.’ This will be an incredible experience, and I cannot thank ‘Peepshow’ enough for making my dreams come true.”
This morning’s announcement caught everybody by surprise. It had been rumored that Angel, who has been Holly’s understudy and replacement during the run when Holly went on holidays, would take over full time. Those racy rumors were quashed when BASE Entertainment producers announced guest stars who would replace Hugh Hefner’s ex-platinum blonde pinup girlfriend.
However, negotiations stalled until the first guest star, Coco, was signed to start in December. Then Holly moved up her departure due to her pregnancy, and Angel, who had been blocked from the full-time slot, was brought in to fill the gap until Coco’s arrival. Ah, the intrigue of showbiz behind the scenes!
Holly goes on maternity leave but has said she wants to return to entertainment endeavors next year -- in a new Strip production, rejoining “Peepshow” or a Hollywood TV project.
She has 10 shows remaining and told me: “I have so many wonderful memories and great experiences from this. I am so happy I moved to Las Vegas. It’s all been a life-changer for me, and I’m so happy about everything.”
Holly and boyfriend Insomniac head honcho Pasquale Rotella, the founder of the Electric Daisy Carnival, are expecting their first baby in February. They have not announced any wedding plans, and Holly told me in an interview in July that having a family was more important to her than a wedding ceremony.
“Peepshow” was conceived and created by Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell (“Legally Blonde,” “Hairspray”). He first selected Kelly Monaco, now appearing on the all-star season of “Dancing With the Stars,” which she won in Season 1, for the Bo Peep role.
Holly followed Kelly and has starred in “Peepshow” for nearly four years and will have performed more than 1,000 shows by the time she departs next week.

Catering to the young and modern crowd, Planet Hollywood is a one-stop shop for entertainment with its massive shopping mall, slew of restaurants, spacious casino and clubs.
The ambiance of the casino is retro-chic meets high-tech with black granite floors throughout and colorful LED lights throughout the space. The theme carries into the 100,000 square-foot casino with 250 flat screens topping off slot machines. The casino is also home to 87 tables, a sports book and a poker room.
There's also the Miracle Mile Shops, one Vegas' largest malls, with 140 stores including BCBG Max Azaria, bebe, Urban Outfitters and The Discovery Channel Store.
Following an afternoon of shopping, guests can satisfy their appetites at one of the gourmet restaurants in Planet Hollywood, like the non-traditional approach to steakhouses at Strip House or check out the exotic Far East motif at KOI restaurant and lounge. And if guests are still looking for more, they can spend the after hours at Privé, Triq or Krave nightclubs.
Perhaps one of the resorts biggest attractions came in March with the addition of "Peepshow." The naughty twist on the story of Little Bo Peep is modern-day spin on the run-of-the-mill Vegas topless review. The "Peepshow" stage has seen visiting celebs like Scary Spice Mel B, "Dancing with the Stars" Kelly Monaco and Playboy's Holly Madison.
