A collision between two cars on U.S. 95 near Sunset Road caused the southbound highway to be shut down for more than 30 minutes on Thursday.
Nevada Highway Patrol officer Loy Hixson said the two cars collided around 4:15 p.m., leaving one of them blocking the middle travel lane. Henderson Police closed the southbound portion of the highway near Sunset Road to move the car to the right shoulder.
Hixson said the highway reopened at 4:50 p.m., but there is still heavy traffic congestion.
Hixson said there were only minor injuries as a result of the crash, and no one was taken to the hospital.
