It was the first major shock and surprise of this all-star Season 15 of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” and it arrived seven days ahead of predictions.

Our Tropicana’s “Dancing With the Stars: Live in Las Vegas” hero Joey Fatone, who also has hosted “The Price is Right Live” at Bally’s, and pro partner Kym Johnson (who won Season 9 with Flamingo headliner Donny Osmond), were unexpectedly knocked out of Tuesday’s Week 2 results episode, even though Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas dancing the Argentine tango had the lowest scores.

Steve Wynn’s sports bookie Johnny Avello had set the odds that Bristol would go home ahead of Joey. He was voted fourth from the bottom with his magical Roaring ’20s movie quickstep on Monday night’s show with 22.5 points, while Bristol was last with 18.

Thanks to viewer voting, though, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s daughter wasn’t even in the final three facing the chopping block. That dubious honor fell to two champions, our former “Peepshow” star Kelly Monaco (Season 1 winner with Alec Mazo), who danced the samba in an almost constant state of wardrobe malfunction with Val Chmerkovskiy, and racecar driver hunk Helio Castroneves (Season 5 with Julianne Hough) with Chelsie Hightower.

Joey was gentlemanly about his dismissal: “I am going to miss everybody out here. I’ve been in the bottom two before one time, but you know, what is great about me is that I always keep punching, and I always have a good time.”

Kym, however, wasn’t so quiet: “I’m upset, I’m sad. I’m not going to lie. It’s the all-stars, an amazing season to be a part of.”

Tuesday night’s show featured British “X Factor” singer Cher Lloyd, returning dancers Lacey Schwimmer (from the “DWTS” show at the Tropicana) and former Las Vegas dramatic arts and dance student Julianne, who is dating Ryan Seacrest. Also singing last night: last season’s finalist Katherine Jenkins with a Placido Domingo song.

Johnny already forecasts that Bristol will be in danger again next week, this time with Kelly and Kirstie Alley, who is dancing with Maks Chmerkovskiy. In today’s odds sheet, Johnny has moved up Shawn Johnson with Derek Hough into the second spot behind Apolo Ohno and Karina Smirnoff.
