Woman critically injured in apparent hit-and-run, police say

A woman who was found critically injured in Fremont Street was apparently the victim of a hit-and-run driver, Metro Police said.

The woman, who suffered severe facial trauma and was unresponsive, was found about 7:45 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Fremont, south of Oakey Boulevard, police said. A car mirror and other debris were found near her, police said.

The woman was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition. No information about the woman’s identity was released.
