Motorcyclist dies in head-on crash on Nellis Boulevard

A motorcycle rider died Saturday after colliding with a Ford sedan on Nellis Boulevard near Cheyenne Avenue. The motorcyclist was traveling North on Nellis Boulevard when the driver of the sedan, 37-year-old Prentiss Bates, who was headed south, crossed over the median, Metro Police said. The motorcyclist was unable to avoid the sedan, and the vehicles collided head-on, police said. Bates was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, police said.   1. Poor guy. I saw on the news the Ford driver was intoxicated and crossed into the other lane and hit the cycle head-on. Nothing he could. God Bless him.

  2. Well after doing a quick google search, Mr. Bates looks like he had a total disregard for the law.

  3. I went right by that spot about an hour before on my own bike. Sad thing is they will let the SOB back on the street instead of throwing away the key!

  4. This is a guy who will go thru life with little to no regard for right and wrong. Second time on DUI. Send him to a desert prison for the next 20 years. A blight on society is what this guy is...nothing more. My fear is there are 1000's of Prentiss Bates in this city.
