Hiker falls to his death in Red Rock conservation area

A man fell to his death Saturday while hiking the Calico Basin in Red Rock National Conservation Area. Metro Police officials said a female hiker called police to report that a hiker had fallen about 2 p.m. Clark County Fire Department and Metro Police Search and Rescue responded, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said the Clark County Coroner’s Office is conducting an investigation to determine whether the fall was accidental.
