It could easily have been a choreographed, military-style dance at Chippendales in the Rio, but this was dancing for real with soldiers from the Russian Army. The routine was one of the challenges facing contestants on Sunday night’s episode of “The Amazing Race” on CBS, and the cliffhanger to end the previous week’s first set of escapades in cold and rainy Moscow.
Our Chippendale dancers Jaymes Vaughan and James Davis proved their metal -- and when they go to battle, they win! Despite being in agony from a bad ankle injury, James soldiered on, screaming in pain as a medic was brought in for aid. The extra weight and dancing stress on the ankle had weakened it, and it had to be bandaged for support and strength.
However, Jaymes and James, in their uniforms, danced on through the discomfort and had other cast members and the Soviet servicemen and servicewomen applauding their military maneuvers. James wound up hopping on one leg for the remainder of the episode.
At the end of last night’s show, Team Chippendales placed first against their competing teams for the first time since the hit series began its Season 21 eight weeks ago. They were all smiles when they learned that they’d won and landed the prize of a trip to Costa Rica. It also meant that they will be back to compete on next week’s show.

Carnival lasts all year at the Rio. With a float occasionally passing overhead and dropping beads while feathered dancers fire up the gamblers below, the Rio tries to keep its 120,000-square foot casino jumping with excitement. Special Brazilian mixed-drinks are also served throughout the casino. The hotel suites tend to be larger than similar priced rooms on the Strip and many offer excellent views with floor to ceiling windows.
The Rio offers some quality shows like "Penn & Teller" and "Chippendales." Many come to the Rio for the nightlife at the VooDoo Lounge, located on the 51st floor, or McFadden's Irish Pub on the casino level.
Others come for a bit relaxation at the Rio Spa or pool area and still others come to shop at the hotel's 60,000 square feet of shops. In each of these endeavors, the Rio attempts to make the experience a bit more fun and spontaneous.
The Rio also offers guests a variety of dining choices from all-American food at the All-American Bar & Grille to Gaylord India Restaurant for something a little spicier and even Carnival World Buffet for the indecisive.
Whatever the outcome - They've proven to be a Class Act and deserving of a Win.
There is no doubt, these two, Team Chippendales, are supreme entertainers! Even when they did the water dance competition with the Russian Olympic Team, they were absolutely fabulous and entertaining to watch. Talk about a couple of hot tamales!!! Wishing them the best of luck towards the win.
