An overnight fire destroyed a North Las Vegas home but caused no injuries, fire officials said Friday.

North Las Vegas firefighters responded shortly after 1 a.m. to the blaze at 612 Casa Del Norte, near Commerce Street and Washburn Road, and found a single-story home engulfed in flames and smoke, Capt. Cedric Williams said in a statement.

The fire was contained to the home and was extinguished in about six minutes, the fire department said.

Residents were out of town, and there were no injuries reported from the fire.

The home sustained heavy smoke and fire damage, with the total damage estimated at $259,000, rendering the home a complete loss, the fire department said.

The cause and origin of the fire are still under investigation.
