Regarding Robert Stanelle’s letter in Saturday’s Sun, I believe he misunderstood the outcome of the election.
He mentioned that the people spoke loud and clear and the Republicans should take heed. The only people who spoke loud and clear are the 15 million who did not vote, either because they did not like or approve of either candidate, or they were simply put off by the demeaning rhetoric of the political ads inundating the American public for over six months.
So, I would advise Mr. Stanelle that in 2014, majority may throw out Democrats as well as Republicans, especially if the Democrats try to read that there was a mandate by the meager popular vote edge.

First only about half the eligible voters voted
So at most "Winners" only get 1/4 of the eligible voters.
So the election came down to a difference of 0.25% of eligible voters
Hardly a mandate
So everybody should heed the voters
Amazing what $2 billion will get you
Obama implement his "KILL" Romney (murderer and racist and felon) bad faith ressentiment character assassination and vilification of an honest family businessman Mitt Romney - right out of the Sal Alinsky play book (this was coined the Jim Messina "Grand Bet")
Romney never got back his reputation or respect or momentum after the summer pillaring by Obama.
The result of Obama's summer negative ad campaign was republican voter suppression - 2 million fewer republican voters turned out with the low favorability of Romney.
Amen letter writer. Correct. President Obama, with the the melba toast lamestream media, had a lock on the second term for the White House. BUT not the GOPeoples' House. Second terms are devastating to presidents who get them. If there was ever a historical reason to limit presidential terms to 4 years, read and understand the history of second term presidents. We've had 16 second termers, not counting Theodore Roosevelt and Harry S. Truman who served most of the first term of their predecessor. Second terms aren't just for legacies, they are for huge perils: Scandals, wars, and on-going strife with Congress. Obama's second term doesn't appear to be any different.

Another reason for lower voter turnout:essentially the campaigning only took place in 10 states. The other 40 states were conceded and, in fact, the closest result in any non-battleground state was an 8% margin of victory.
Weber:
Your point is noted, but the other non swing states have local issues and statewide ballot initiatives. Work, lack of babysitters, health issues, and voting time in line are greater factors in people not voting than the lack of closeness in individual states.

THERE IS A FINE LINE TO BE WALKED IN FINANCIAL MATTERS; AND THAT LINE IS NOT INVISIBLE
I am one of those who chose in the end NOT to vote in this past election. These choices were all about which candidate had the best "gift package" to offer. Clearly, Romney was outgunned because there is a lot more of the struggling middle-class and poor than there are of the wealthy.
Republican supporters don't want to pay their fair and reasonable share of taxes. However, I do hold close to my heart the principals of "free enterprise". On the other hand, Democratic supporters can't seem to differentiate, when it comes to social programs between what is a "hand-out" and a "hand-up". However, I do hold close to my heart the principals of many social programs that take care of, number one, our children at any cost, and secondly, temporarily assisting those through no fault of their own that have fallen on hard times.
In budgetary decision making, whether one is, head of household, head of a business, or head of government affairs and operations, each has to maintain a stable financial environment. If not, they should all be thrown to the curb.
My wife is a perfect example. She allows me to be head of household only as long as I act financially responsible. Trust me when I say, she watches me like a hawk. And, she should. By her standards, I must maintain a "nest egg". I must not incur bills and expenses that exceed or even come close to our monthly income. When an emergency occurs, I must provide her how in a logical manner I plan to pay this debt off. A lot of responsibilities come with being head of household. We must independently and appropriately house, feed, clothe, protect and provide medical care for all under our jurisdictional umbrella. Surely, the wife has her duties and responsibilities and teenage children are expected to earn their keep as well around the home. In the family environment, it all works hand and hand. It is no different in the business and political sectors.
If any of us fail to live up to our obligations and expectations, we should be kicked to the curb, just as politicians should. This is why I was a "no voter". Both presidential candidates were financially irresponsible "gift-givers", and that is a recipe for disaster!
JeffFromVegas - Also valid points.
Bad news orrepublicans: they've won the popular vote just once in the last six presidential elections -- GW Bush's very narrow victory in 2004. That is a two-decade stretch beginning with Clinton's election in 1992 until last week's reelection of President Obama.
Even worse for GOPers is future prospects for retaking the WH are bleak as their main voting group -- older whites -- continues to shrink.
The pres does have a mandate! MSNBC's The Last word had a chart last night that shows Obama had the largest margin of victory since before Reagan. When W claimed a mandate he won by only .0041%. Obama's margin was an astounding .0290%. This is a mandate.
By the way, had there not been redistricting after the 2010 elections, The house would be Blue today.

Nobody has a MANDATE unless they are elected by 50% of ELIGIBLE voters. And 50% is hardly an overwhelming chorus. When popular vote was close to 50/50, we must communicate with both platforms and with those who didn't like either platform. It is long past time to STOP talking about abortion. Reprehensible perhaps but it is our law. Contraception? Perhaps reprehensible but no one has the right to insist ANY woman bear a child under any circumstances. Marriage? ditto. As long as the tax code gives financial discounts to "married", couples, head of household, dependents, the tax laws insist that all unions be recognized. It is just NOT the role of the federal government to INTRUDE in local matters, state's rights, individual rights to PURSUE happiness--there is no constitutional guarantee to health, wealth, happiness--just the right to pursue it. The "common good" is NOT an enumerated power and we need the courts to rule as such. The common good is ALLOWING OUR ECONOMY to function without taxing into dysfunction precluding anyone from pursuing anything.
For those who "forgot", there are basic rights that CANNOT be infringed by MAJORITY votes. And those rights include the first 10 amendments aka as the Bill or Rights. The right to be secure (from excessive taxation) is inherent.
Carmine: Biden as President? Harry Reid? Pelosi? Unless we get a recall or impeachment or resignation after appointment of a potential president that can perform.....
OK, Carmine, as Speaker of the House, Representative Boehner is after Reid. No danger of Pelosi moving in. Boehner seems actually much more qualified that the two "in-line" before him. Biden, no discussion needed. Reid, no discussion needed, but he's too old, too mentally challenged, too much of the same non-partisan bickerer who refuses to compromise and refuses to act. So if we have to wait until the economy collapses a bit more for the American citizenry to DEMAND change....
The letter is pure hogwash. If you can't handle losing stay out of the game. Don't put your two cents worth in because it means little to the winners and shows ones ability to be unable to cope with reality.

Roselenda,
You are mistaken, the Speaker of the House is the person next in line after the VP, *then* comes the President pro Tempore of the Senate.
After that it moves to the various Cabinet Secretaries, starting the the Secretary of State.
Obviously the nay sayers have not studied past elections. 3 million is a HUGE mandate. Accept your defeat and move on with your life.
Carmine, Sgt Rock still are not over the election...oh yes, they though Romney had it in the bag! HAHAHAHAHAHA! Hope you enjoy the next 4 years. And by the way, Benghazi will amount to zilch and is just the kind of stupid distraction that the public does not want and the Republicans and Teabaggers insist on like spoiled children. Word to you Teabaggers, GROW UP and GET REAL. The country has real issues to deal with and we need to move forward on them and stop wasting time.
So 15 million non voters matter more than all the millions who did vote? On what planet does the writer live?

Actual the House Speaker is ahead of the Senate Pro tem
How can one mention Obama's mud-slinging campaign without also mentioning Romney's? More of that blind faith in one Party over the other when, in fact, BOTH Parties ran dirty campaigns as BOTH have done for many election years now. I propose that ALL States include "NONE OF THE ABOVE" as a voting an option and I further propose that if "NONE OF THE ABOVE" gets a majority of the vote then BOTH Parties be given 30 days to go back to the proverbial drawing table and produce 2 new, viable candidates - give each candidate equal air-time and press coverage to present what they can bring to the table in a POSITIVE manner as opposed to 30 more days of mud-slinging and then may the best man/woman win. I violently oppose having to use my vote to choose between the lesser of two evils - in that case I would simply refrain from voting.

If you have been reading here regularly, I called the President and his minnows out for lying [video nonsense excuse] to Americans about the murders of the 4 Americans on 9-11 on 9/12 and since. President came to Vegas the day after the murders to campaign for money. Said "we hit a bump in the road." Our President's sum total of the wisdom on Benghazi! 4 murders, no explanation why. State, CIA and Defense running and hiding. Family and friends of the murdered Americans shunned by the country. And you want be to feel sorry if Obama is kicked out for Biden? Who picked Biden? And who voted for him? Not me.

"Carmine: Biden as President? Harry Reid? Pelosi? Unless we get a recall or impeachment or resignation after appointment of a potential president that can perform....." @Roberta Anderson
The US has had two impeachment proceedings in second term presidents in recent history for crimes much less worse than Benghazi: Nixon and Watergate [break-in and cover up] and Clinton and Monica Lewinsky [sex on the job and cover up]. 4 Americans murdered in Benghazi. More than 2 months later and still no facts and truth. Just the CIA, State, Defense, and President running and hiding and cover up from it.
CarmineD
The republican party Benghazi groupies have turned into a bizarre version of Fred Flintstone, who has divorced Wilma, Pebbles has moved out of state to avoid "Daddy", and Dino had to be given to Barney Rubble because the animal cruelty people were concerned about Fred.

Carmine,
"The US has had two impeachment proceedings in second term Presidents in recent history for crimes much less worse than Benghazi."
You have been crying about Benghazi since before the election. When are you going to stop? There will not be any impeachment proceeding on this issue.I guess you will just have to wait for 2016 for Pres.Obama to finish his term.Romney and Ryan conceded the election. When will you?
Hello Sam:
I don't know if and when the "I" word will be brought up for Obama. It really doesn't matter to me. What matters is that the USA has 4 murdered American heroes in the scandal and lies surrounding Benghazi, Libya. And the President and his minnows are running and hiding from testifying about what they knew and when. Thank goodness for divided government and the GOP party [with some Dems like Senator Feinstein]. They will get to the bottom of facts and fiasco of Benghazi and heads are/will roll. I guarantee it. Nothing new coming from me Sam. I said this on 9-11 and since. I said it was a landmine. So far, I'm right and you and other Obama swooners like you have been wrong. Obama is the President. He won. AND as a result he is accountable for what he did and when. He's not getting a free pass. Not with 4 murders. He dared McCain and Graham to go after him and not Rice, his front woman. Well guess what Sam. They are going after Obama.
CarmineD
BTW Sam, my use of impeachment was in response to Roberta Anderson's post TO ME. I didn't utter/post the word.

Perhaps you could show me at what time slot Roberta Anderson wrote about the impeachment of Pres. Obama on the Benghazi issue today.I may have over looked it somehow.
Sam: Look again and reread the thread and posts. Clean your glasses, if you wear them. If not get your eyes checked. And get a cup of joe to get your brain working. You're losing it or just finding excuses to do so.

boftx 1:36. OK on the succession for President. Ya think Biden will resign. Hillary can be VP. And THEN O. will resign after impeachment or indictment. If not Hillary, who else? I'm OK with Rep Boehner. Not sure Hillary wants it but at least SHE seems to have ethics--I read a lot into HER SILENCE about Libya, and how O. operates. Wonder why Hillary wouldn't do the "presentation" so that O. had to ask Ms. Rice.
Watergate brought Nixon down. Watergate was a break-in sort of burglary of campaign offices. It was the COVERUP that did him in, the lying, the hypocrisy. O. has already said that Susan Rice was "just making a presentation" on the information we spoon-fed her to deceive the American public while AT THAT TIME we already knew that information was deceptive, dishonest, done only to preclude turmoil BEFORE the election. Also, O. has said that now that the election is over, he can disclose some of his plans--how he's going to raise taxes and spend, spend, spend. Not one word on what O. wants to cut--although they have an "agreement" that there will be 3x the cuts versus revenue enhancement.
Baaaabaaabeeee, you ain't seen nothing yet. Get used to the harping and harshness cause that's all we're gonna here: Congressional investigations on the INTENTIONAL DECEPTION of the American voters. Ya think the campaigning was 24/7....
Carmine, I'm sorry I still don't see where Roberta Anderson called for the Impeachment of Pres.Obama over the Benghazi issue.
I did see earlier before my 10:30 am post today. That Roberta Anderson did post on Nov.15TH,at 10:32 AM here is what she said.
"Carmine,Biden as Pres?,Harry Reid?,Nancy Pelosi?,unless we get a recall or impeachment or resignation after appointment of a Pres.that can perform".
No where does she indicate about a impeachment about the Benghazi Issue? Please show an exact time and date on what you claim Roberta Anderson stated that Pres.Obama will be impeached on the Benghazi issue.
Before you accuse me of needing glasses and having my eyes checked, and also say I'm losing it. Maybe you should take a look in the mirror and get a hold of your self, because you have already lost it. Adding words to what Roberta Anderson said won't cut it.
Sam, we might not have to wait for impeachment. It might be more appropriate to indict? Now Senator Reid is trying to add to the coverup by "refusing to allow" the Congressional investigations proceed without interference. We may have to do something about that senile old Senator, sooner or later. Obama seems extraordinarily naive if he things more coverup is going to clear this up. And who on the planet would take Harry Reid's word for anything? And Sam, I use reading glasses but still suffer a bit from dyslexia... I've posted a similar comment after another article, so maybe Carmine saw that.
Sam, try my post on something about the INCONVENIENT TRUTH....
So, Sam, if Benghazi is supposed to just go away, why is it necessary for Senator Harry to put his foot down and interfere? Even the liberal media will cover Senator Harry's sound bites on this. Who's not a crook?
Roberta,
Thank you for your response back to me.I do appreciate you doing so.It is quite possible that Carmine saw a similar comment posted on another article by you on Benghazi. As you have suggested that on your 6:20 PM post today to me.
It was a mandate.
If those people who did not vote really believed that Romney could change the course of events for them, for USA, and for the world, they would have voted. Romney however, failed to present a cogent plan enough to convince them, thus effectively supporting the argument that the status quo was better than the alternative.
As they say, it is what it is.
It behooves republicans to retool their communication approach. Conservatism has its merits when changes are taking place at a dizzying pace.
If you don't vote for (whatever reason)you don't count. Simple.I voted, some of my choices got in, some didn't. Regardless I had a voice. You don't vote, too bad. We that do decide your fate.
I seem to recall in 1983 an attack on the American Marines barracks, the death toll was 241 American servicemen: 220 Marines, 18 sailors and three soldiers, along with sixty Americans injured in Lebanon. Where was the outrage that many are exhibiting today? Instead of coming together like patriotic Americans we are as angry when our candidate is in office as when they aren't.
Sad Teacher
It was not a mandate. You're looking at the electoral college. EC is skewed in favor of dems. Hence Obama got 338. Like Obama, Romney won 13 states with 57 percent or more of popular vote. Yet for those states, the Governor got 108 electoral votes. Obama got 168. Romney won 24 states. He needed to win Florida, and at least 3 more swing states to get to 270. That means Virginia, Ohio, and New Hampshire. Do you know what the difference in votes were between Obama and Romney in those states? I'll tell you: About 330,000. That would have put Romney in the White House. Liberals should praise the EV up and down. It turns a squeaker election into a landslide.
CarmineD
If he wouldda just won 4 more states...
Still cryin in your beer? Here are the most current totals I was able to find.
Winner: Barack Obama (Democrat)
332 Electoral Votes
62,611,250 Popular Votes
Loser: Mitt Romney (Plutocrat)
206 Electoral Votes
59,134,475 Popular Votes
It means that America is a split virtually down the middle country with democrats better able to finish what they start.
Along with the oddball candidates votes it appears that Romney's vote totals will end up somewhere between FORTY SEVEN POINT ZERO ONE and FORTY SEVEN POINT NINE NINE percent.
He will forever be known as the 47% candidate.
I'm a descendant of well off family lines. I was born and raised in conservative family background. My parents have never cast ballot to more progressive (left leaning) party candidates and this time again they will exercise their inalienable right to vote for that same conservative party member upcoming Korea's presidential election. How about me? I can't agree more to their causes picking their conservative version, as I consider individual talent and reward, social responsibility, dilligence and business role to improve national economy and create jobs for people. We'll go to the same polling place together and cast mine to their picks also. I guess time has ripen for S.Korea to pick a woman leader who deeply cares about national security, economy and wellfare for the people, a conservative party member. Socialism isn't the answer to distribute and wealth and status evenly to people to make equal and better society. Some folks in America believe Obama's a typical version of a socialist, however I tend to not buy it. That reason I'd rather pick Obama, let him a chance to finish the unfinished last four yrs, if I were given a right to vote in U.S still..Now I live in Korea, and I'm not eligible to do so.
My dad had been a bank manager of korea's top national bank(NB,of Korea) for 12yrs but not anylonger since his retirement several yrs ago, and he also is more leaning to conservative view and free capitalism. I'd ask him who'd do better job, who'd be more beneficial to S.Korea in Korea-U.S relation, Obama or Romney and he answers Obama will do better than Romney, though he knows America's in bad economy since Obama took office four yrs ago, and Romney has his record as a successful businessman, but not Obama who's prone to be fingerpointed as a socialist by most staunch republicans. The reason is this: Though Obama didn't do well to bring U.S economy up to recovery better than he was expected to, and economy is still a key issue for most Americans who're unemployed and still looking for descent paying jobs to sustain their living, there's more than economic success, jobs and money picking a nation's leader, of which it is even more important than jobs and money: The integrity and compassion of the leader to the nation. In short, he thinks a leader must have a genuine compassion, and honesty to people.. He isn't sure about Obama's record on this, but at least he's shown those kinds of compassion, and sincerity to people last four yrs he belives. Maybe he's talking about the lesser devil American voters are looking for..or maybe Obama is indeed sincere as well" to care for the causes of the American public. I don't know..
But I know this: You can't never trust, or can't but have significant doubt on sincerity and quality of a leader who (not openly) talks of "47% of Americans rely on govt. welfare" like beggers on street asking for handsout.. This was felt deeply in my heart. I had time, while living in U.S from 1991 till around the end of 2008, without a permanent job with no place to stay but homeless shelter or cheap motel to crash into, jut occasional manual jobs(laboring), and at least once I had received unemployment benefit(it was also called 'emergency fund') at local unemployment office. That negligeable amounts of money disbursed monthly to check cash or put into my account was well spent to buy or do the most basic necessities as foods (foods stamp was separetely available but I didn't apply for specific reason I can't recall now), clothes and have my hair cut, transportation so on.. I didn't feel too great getting free aids from the govt, filled in with taxpayers' money!, nor did I intend to take advantage of those benefits from govt. permanently, but anyway it really helped me to get going.. without the need to intensive labor works, or in extreme circumstance ask for help on the street as some beggers do to make living. In Asian culture, by the way, it is really terrible and ruins one's dignity begging on the street! I'm not that used to this peoples' mentality living in Asian culture since I had lived in America longer periods than I did spend days in Korea. So, with no family members to rely on (my elder brother and other relatives who lives, and still lives now, in U.S at the time didn't care too much about what's going on around me..yes I had some personal matter to take care of like gambling habits for a while, but we barely had any contact since everybody was on their own!), I came up with this idea to make a sign saying "I need some help..from S.Korea I appreciate your generosity" on street corner in Texas, when I didn't have money to spend that rather chilly night at a cheap motel I lived mot of the years in State of California and I had seen many beggers or what's called 'panhandlers' asking for money on the street- and I did give them some occasionally while in CA-but I never thought such acts of begging itself was illegal specifically designated in city ordinances, and thus prohibited (though I know now, enforcement protocols differ from place to place) in some parts of a state, or statewide in others as Texas! So to make long lines short, I got arrested for doing it just less than half an hour, a dispatcher handcuffed me and put me into a holding cell for the entire night till the next day, the judge's penalty on me was to deprive those changes I collected on street of me! So again out the jail, I did not have any!! Even to buy a drink to quench my thirst.. I felt that dispatcher who arrested me and the district judge who came to police station himself was rather mean to me.
In Korea begging is never a socially acceptable form of getting money to get by even more so than it is in U.S as I had seen many people toss their handsout to people on the street in some states as California, Oregon or state of Washington..but not in Texas?? Is there any middle ground between California and Texas? But still nobody so far gets arrested to face even harder time by enforcement offiers than begging itself in S.korea.. Most people really don't want beggers get arrested for begging behavior since that looks so inhumane..This doesn't mean peopleIn korea usually have greater compassion to beggers (people look down on beggers!!)than people in Texas I guess..They just feel it is not right for someone to go to jail just for asking money on street! Except some with more malicious and heineous intention!
I'm never against the value of conservatism as I've said I was raised in such conservative family background. But to some republican conservatives spotlighted in media and national and political scenes they aint' conservative to me at all.. Real conservatism takes greater value on social reponsibility and compassion to those needy than prestige and monetary success, free market capitalism so on..Successful free market and national growth can be possible only with preservation of well checked conservative value. For the sake of true republican conservatism to revive over personal gain and bashing on the Democrats for way extremely liberal ideology on gay marriage, pro choice for women and other significant issues similarly, republicans and conservatives nowadays have to have a changed mindset I dare to say.. I care deeply about American cause..It's almost like my second homecountry. Beliefs in freedom of choice and free market democracy away from socialism also needs COMPASSION AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY.. Where's that latter component in modern American republicans? Just to keep illegal immigrants away from electric fence bordering with Mexico, ban on gay marriage (I happen to agree on this issue with republicans somehow), catching bad guys domestic and foreign to keep security and keep Aermica as invincible superpower to be conservative and republican enough? How about some of more compassion and dignity to people, and corporate social responsibility to become role model to people to galvanize them to look for jobs harder, to work harder upon employment and to have greater sense of fairness but, not necessarily, false sense of equal(even) dsitribution of wealth! (that I also oppose against socialistic ideology) In the meantime how about giving the incumbent four more years to see if he can do better this time than last four yrs..Well, some say four yrs again? Well I just can say if Obama can't do any better than now next four yrs, than the republican cause was the RIGHT THING and American people then make a smarter choice..but at the moment I can't tell differently (if Romney is the better choice for the people)
Jeff,
Very good I like that the 47 percent candidate.Gov.Romney never thought that the 47 percent of moochers and freeloaders he discribed in his secret video would be the number that he would end up with (47percent) of popular vote. Be careful cf what you say you could be on candid camera.
Republicans don't need to change a thing. Voters need to wake up and all voters probably will by 2016. Our economy is diving downwards still. We may be in a worldwide nuclear war thank to O.'s ineptness as CIC. We will spend however long investigating his investigations that pretend he knew nothing--that's a worse problem. Knowing nothing adds to his ineptness and unsatisfactory performance as CIC. The surges into Afghanistan when we are unable to pay our bills is insane. A payroll tax holiday is insane. More "stimulus" spending is insane. And here we go on the same course as the last four years. IF we survive another four years, the RNC will be history.
hardworker: Many, many conservatives are into compassion--but you'll never hear about it. You'll never know the details. However, I draw the line at adopting 15 million indigent illegals to drag down our welfare programs, our non-profit companies, our employment prospects, our government costs.
Civics lesson for you who think Obama got a mandate. The GOPeoples' House control the government's purse strings. Don't ever forget it. Thank you very much American voters for your acumen in voting the GOP back in charge of the money.

Roslenda:
WRT impeachment proceedings and consequences thereof, President Clinton lost forever his ability to practice law, his profession, as a result of Monica-gate: Lying and cover-up to the American people. No murders like the Benghazi massacre. Something to think about when CNN and MSNBC and their minnows scoff at House and Senate hearings and investigations into the President and his men [and women]. On a good note, at least these supposed news stations are covering the matter. Sadly, it took a Generals' sex scandal to do it.

Hey Carmine, do YOU think the Benghazi mess-up encourages the Palestinians etal to attack Israel? Ya think O. will do anything "fair" for our real allies. And to those who think foreign aide helps anyone, just look at how much support we've paid Egypt for. And where is that support?

I say:
You spend way too much time worrying about Clinton's briefs...
Carmine:
"Lesson on Civics: GOPeoples' house controls the government purse strings...."
So, why are you blaming Obama for our money problems? I do not understand.
Carmine, what does lessons on Civics say about who to blame? Enlighten us, please?
If in the next four years, we do go straight down that cliff, is it alright to blame those who hold the purse strings?

Roslenda:
Our allies and enemies are laughing at us over Benghazi and the related Generals' scandal.
Hamas in Palenstine attacked Israel before, during and after the Presidential election. The bombings did not receive much press.
Israel must knock out the missiles in Gaza before it can attack Iran. Why? Once Israel does, the hundreds of thousands of missiles controlled by Hamas, in the Gaza, supplied bi Iran, will be unleashed against Israel. Hence, Israel's iron dome and attacks on Gaza will preempt this likelihood.
The USA is in a bind. We support both Eqypt and Israel monetarily and militarily. Both their weaponry is primarily USA supplied. We've had peace with Eqypt, and Israel with Eqypt, for 40 years. If Eqypt, with the new Muslim brotherhood government, sides with Hamas/Iran it's a problem not just for Israel but the USA. The USA, with Obama in charge, will lilkely stay neutral, saying as it has that Israel has the right to defend itself. Israel has no choice. Win or lose it has to.
WRT impeachment proceedings and their ourcomes, you can see several "narratives" emerging from the hearings. All conflated together. Interesting! Rice is being defended as having been a loyal soldier doing what she was asked without questioning. Petraeus is being criticized for giving two stories at different times. First the anti-Muslim prophet video story on Sept 14/15. Now the terrorist attack by Al Qaida. He'll be criticized for not setting the record straight when the Admin and its minnows lied, deceived, spun, misrepresneted the facts.
President Obama? He gave the order: "Do what has to be done to save the Americans [massacred in Benghazi, Libya]." As well he must as Commander-in-Chief. Remember it went on for over 7 hours. So why didn't anything militarily happen? Why weren't the Americans, if not all, at least 2 saved? Only one unmanned predator drone was sent to provide real time imagery of the sacking of the Benghazi consulate and the massacre. A contingent of 8 troops too. 8 against 100 well armed and planned Libyan and Al Qaida terrorists? Really? There are 3 possible explanations and answers to my question. None are good for President and Sec Def Panetta. Eventually, like it or not Obama will have to testfy. Our military is good. Given the order they would have been there and likely the outcome would have been different than it was.

President always shares the blame. He's in charge. The buck stops with him. But GOPeoples' House control the purse strings and is responsible too. Who gets more blame/credit remains to be seen. Time will tell.

BTW Roslenda: It wasn't the fog of war that tripped up this President and his minnows in Benghazi Libya as he and they said. It was the fog of the presidential election and politics. 4 American heroes murdered. Somebody is accountable for them.
BTW, back to your question, I hear the morale among our military is at the lowest levels in years.

Jeffery:
Clinton didn't.
