The number of Nevadans filing initial claims for jobless benefits rebounded in October after reaching a five-year low the month earlier.The state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation says Wednesday about 18,500 initial claims were filed last month, compared with 17,500 in October 2011. It's also a big jump from September 2012, when less than 14,000 claims were filed.Officials say the new numbers are skewed because September had only 19 working days, while October had 22 and offered more opportunities to file for unemployment. I bet $100 that the officals did not say in Oct that the number were skewed and overly rosy in September because there were only 19 days.
Funny how that works....it is only skewed when it shows bad numbers not when it shows rosy numbers.
Technicalities? Ya, more people are out of work.
