Metro investigating attack that left one party-goer dead, another stabbed

Area of crime

One man was stabbed and another shot and killed Sunday night in the western valley, Metro Police said Tuesday.

The men were found about 9 p.m. in an alley near the 4600 block of Elk Springs Avenue, near West Twain Avenue and South Arville Street, police said.

A preliminary investigation found the men had been at a party when they got into a confrontation with each other. Details of the disagreement and the motive for the crime are still unclear, but it appears the two victims were attacked, police said. The men were both transported to University Medical Center, where the gunshot wound victim was pronounced dead, police said.

It is unclear how many assailants were involved, and no suspects have been identified.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Metro’s homicide section at 720-828-3521 or, to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers, 720-385-5555.
