The Clark County Coroner's Office identified Edwin Clark as the man found dead at the parking lot of the Siena Townhomes Saturday afternoon.
Clark and a woman were apparently exiting their vehicle at the 1900 block of Simmons Street around 4:45 p.m. when an unknown assailant open fired on them. Both were hit by gunfire, Metro Police said. Clark was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman was transported to University Medical Center where she was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.
The attack is still under investigation, and police said the preliminary findings indicate the shooting was an act of gang violence.
