An incomplete spy tale

The one familiar aspect of the David Petraeus scandal is that he had an affair. Everything else about this story is weird. Petraeus, who resigned Friday as director of the CIA, is brilliant, brave, dedicated and accomplished. But he also is vain. Even his most loyal and ardent supporters have to acknowledge the care with which he has always burnished his own image. He is used to being surrounded by acolytes — staff officers, journalists, hangers-on — whose fawning attentions can only foster a sense of superiority and entitlement. Finally, the liberal lamestream media is covering Bengahzi and it took a sex scandal by the former chief spy to get it going. 4 American heroes dead and no explanation except stories coming from the White House. Clinton on Benghazi: Missing in action. Susan Rice on Benghazi: MIA. Panetta on Benghazi: MIA. Petraeus betrayed us on Benghazi: MIA. President Obama can bob and weave, duck and run. But he can't hide. What did he know about Petraeus and when? Americans deserve to know the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help Obama and God.
