Suspect in Idaho homicide arrested in Las Vegas

A suspect in the death of a south-central Idaho man has been arrested in Las Vegas.

Cassia County Undersheriff Geroge Warnell said a tip from a viewer of the Oct. 12 episode of the America's Most Wanted television show led police to 53-year-old James Duane Ambrose on Thursday. He was living and panhandling on the streets of Las Vegas.

Ambrose is a suspect in the death of Russ Taft of Rupert, whose body was found in May in a crawl space at the Alpine Garden Inn in Burley. He had been beaten and stabbed in the heart. Officials say Taft was in the process of buying the Burley motel.

The AMW website says Ambrose also is wanted for carjacking an 86-year-old woman in Las Vegas.
