Road construction to shut down portion of Ogden Avenue downtown

Road improvements on portions of Ogden Avenue will force some downtown drivers to take a detour until Jan. 11.

The construction, in a six-block area between Las Vegas Boulevard North and 11th Street, will consist of road removal and replacement necessitated by deteriorating pavement, the city of Las Vegas said in a news release.

Drivers can use Stewart Avenue or Carson Avenue as alternative routes, the city said.

The Las Vegas Paving Corp. is the contractor for the $750,000 project, paid for by city funds.
