After today, it’s over. Nevada voters have had to endure a marathon this election cycle, with a constant Democratic campaign machine on one side and that extended Republican primary — oh, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul, how we miss you — on the other. Both sides have spent an unprecedented amount nationally. President Barack Obama and Republican rival Mitt Romney have raised about $1 billion apiece. In Nevada, where a concerted battle has played out for our six presidential electoral votes, we’ve seen more than our share of candidate visits and television ads. Piled on top of that have been ...

odds are favoring Obama big time. Betting palors in the Cayman Islands know what they are doing. bet $100 on Romney to win $350 or bet $400 on Obama to win $100. and still most of the money is on OBAMA.

Harry Reid and his band of flunkees are going to be shocked when they find out that Nevadans are going to vote in Mitt Romney for President. The economy here is terrible and all those visits by Obama have not done a single thing to help the employment situation. Nothing. Obama lied about the horrible tragedy in Libya. The guys who provided the initial funding for the Obama presidency will be shocked that their man (Obama) will have lost his bid for reelection. It is the economy and Obama should have realized that.
Why is it the Sun making it like Romney can win Nevada?
The numbers don't show Romney can win Nevada. The math does not add up. The early voting is solid for the President.
NVFisherman...
Today will be a bitter pill.
I'm thinking it won't improve your disposition.
Osama is dead and that's good enough for me!
In a little while, heading off to vote. Can't wait to absolutely crush the Tea/Republican Party all up and down the ballot with my vote for Democratic Party candidates ONLY. Call me partisan all you want. Don't care. The Tea/Republicans started this debacle America is in, now I'm going to help end it.
I can already smell desperation on the part of Tea/Republicans here in Nevada. I saw some stupid article where Heller stated that even though people will vote Obama/Biden, essentially writing off Romney/Ryan as a loss, he believed to his very soul they would cut across party lines and vote for him over Berkley.
Huh?
Answer me this: How can someone vote for President Obama, a man who has done his best in the past for this nation in trying to move us forward, but then also vote for Heller, a man who has voted against every single thing the President advocates...not because of the issue, but because he's TOLD by the Tea/Republican leadership to make sure he fails?
Really dumb to vote for more debacle.
I guess what I'm saying is there WILL be a down ballot effect. We been to Hell. I don't see a need to go Heller.
If you ain't done it yet, come join me today. Get out there and vote, people. Lemme remind you that you are not authorized to complain about any damn thing if you don't exercise your right as an American citizen.
Can't wait to contribute to the utter destruction of the entire Tea/Republican Party with my votes. Gotta do my part. This time I'm not only voting smart, but I'm voting angry.
If you think Romney is going to take Nevada you're living on another planet. I suspect we are going to see a lot of angry GOP'ers here later who can't understand how Obama won this election. Should be fun.
The BIGGEST mistake EVER....has been this SUPER PAC.It is no longer a case the candidate gets in on the strength of his "own" merits. But to think nearly $2 BILLION...two BILLION dollars have been raised from massive multi-million dollar contributors. This was a BILLIONAIRES campaign this time round and it will get worse the next time.People everywhere need to step back and just think for a moment what TWO BILLION dollars could do to this state and others like it.This is not an election for the PEOPLE and it is recently NOT BY THE PEOPLE.
The Teabaggers will get schooled today, with Obama winning Nevada and in the Electoral vote and the morons Akin and Mordock going down in flames..It's going to be better than the Superbowl!
There should be little doubt that when political "machines" take over, tyrants emerge free people are no longer free but mere parts of the "machine".
We saw it happen in post-revolutionary Russia and pre-Fascist Germany and now it is happening here.
Same tyrant personality only the name has been changed to Reid.
Enjoy what you are creating today if you vote to keep Reid in the White house.
@babyboomer
Politics has gotten more corrupt with each passing year. Sheldon, Soros and the Koch brothers have seen to that. Give each candidate 50 million of taxpayer money...and that's it. No fundraisers, no PACS, no individual or corporate donors. 50 million each to spend to get their message out there.
Mitt Romney has already written off 47% of Americans as 'losers'. At a fundraising event on May 12 2012 Romney showed his true colors when he said:
'There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it -- that that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what'
'My job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives'

Obama will be defeated.
Mitt Romney has already written off 47% of Americans as 'losers'. At a fundraising event on May 12 2012 Romney showed his true colors when he said:
-----------
Probably the worst blunder of his campaign. He didn't back off the statement until it became a bigger issue. Then he ultimately said he made a mistake.
TomD1228
Either he lied when he said it in May or he lied when he said he didn't mean it. Either way he lied.
Romney is the type of person who will say one thing in public and say the complete opposite in private. Textbook definition of hypocrite.
Romney's statement is even more hypocritical when you look at what Romney said on August 15,2012 in Ohio:
'Mr. President, take your campaign of division and anger and hate back to Chicago'
http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/pres...
Clearly,Romney's 47% statement demonstrated a lot of anger at 47% of Americans. Clearly,Romney's 47% statement demonstrated a lot of hate for 47% of Americans. It was clearly an attempt at division. Romney was trying to divide 47% of Americans from other Americans.
Romney's campaign is the campaign bringing division, anger, and, hate.
May I never hear the name Mitt Romney again after tonight, except as a historical footnote in a documentary about the 2012 election.
Seems like a reasonable article and makes sense. Doesn't appear to be biased at all which is surprising. Can't wait to see the outcome. Longtimevegan you didn't post you catch phrase 6 to 8 points is that because you have stopped believing it?
Pundits are saying that independents "leaning" for Romney (even in Nevada) are hesitant to admit it to the pollsters--tired of being falsely accused of racism--as if voting for the better candidate is racist. Also, union members are hesitant to admit to others that they've had enough fantasy-Obama hype.
Pollsters are accusing people of racism based on a single vote question of "who are you voting for"?? Seems a little out there. I'd love to see a link to an article that backs up this scenario.
Pollster: Who are you voting for?
Answer: I'm voting for Mitt Romney.
Pollster: You're a racist!
C'mon now. This sounds like nonsense. What legitimate polling operation would even contemplate having that kind of person talking to people.
Polls, pundits, experts, whatever - NO ONE really knows what the outcome will be today other than we can all agree - it will be very close election. You can either believe all the "hype" or not. I stopped listening weeks ago (last night on TV was horrendous with the political ads! It seemed as if they took every single ad from the last 6 months and showed them all last night! And in our area, we get the stuff from all the politicans from TWO States.) This election could very well be a repeat of the 2000 Election - one wins the popular vote and the other actually wins the Presidency because of Electoral vote.
It is raining and cold here in Illinois and I figured it would hurt voter turnout. I went at 10:15 this morning and was SHOCKED at the lines!!! There had to be about 100-125 people in line!! One of the election judges said when the polls first opened this morning, the lines extended way out in this rather large parking lot; people stood in the pouring rain. This morning I saw young moms and dads with their little ones, taking the kids with them instead of one of them not going to vote and staying home to babysit. I saw elderly people in wheelchairs and with canes; I saw veterans, college students, a few Muslims, the well-to-do and the not so well-to-do. Saw a bunch of my neighbors. It was America at it's best - no matter who wins.
I didn't realize this but Illinois is the ONLY State that does not have "Conceal Carry" laws. It was on the ballot today. Curious to see what happens with that.
As you make your way through election day-please consider the following:
"Fewest jobs posted in 5 months" - Cleveland Plains Dealer - Election Day - November 6 2012
http://www.cleveland.com/business/index....
50 percent of recent college graduates are either unemployed or stuck in jobs that don't require a college degree. See http://www.theatlantic.com/business/arch... and as reported in the Tampa Bay Times. Youth in Tampa, Florida and any place in the nation for that matter don't deserve this.
It is unacceptable. It is no wonder that Florida is going the way of a President Mitt Romney. See http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/11/03/30... as reported this weekend.
It is no wonder that people interviewed about the national election from the less-than-conservative Toledo Ohio Blade had this to say:
"Lately, many of (my) visitors are businessmen and entrepreneurs who are afraid to spend money. A Romney presidency will fix that, and fix it quickly. Jobs is the name of the game, and I think Romney knows how to do that," Ohioan Mister Haver said.
"I know one thing, they're going to have do something with that debt. They talk about balancing the budget, they need to pay [the deficit] off." Ohioan Mister Birkhold said.
"I've been through all different presidents and for my experience, the Obama years are the worst years I've put up with," Ohioan Mister Poth said.
See http://www.toledoblade.com/Politics/2012...
Its no wonder that all of Iowa's major newspapers support a President Mitt Romney.
www.cbsnews.com/.../all-four-major-iowa-...
Being afraid to spend money, successfully balancing the budget, paying off the deficit, jobs being the name of the game, and that "the Obama years are the worst years I've put up with", are all issues of the national economy.
Unemployment in America showed yet another rise this Friday, November 2, 2012. See http://business-news.thestreet.com/the-n... Some 170,000 jobs created but some 170,000 jobs lost.
Factor in broken-hearted, discouraged, despondent American workers and the rate is more unacceptably despicable still.
Poll of voters who voted early show Mitt Romney at 52 percent beating Mr Obama at 45 percent.
See http://www.policymic.com/articles/17752/...
This winning look of a President Mitt Romney makes sense.

The debt limit will be reached in 2012, according to the treasury. Again, issues of debt limits and issues of the treasury are issues of the economy. Americans are impacted for the better when they make good-faith contributions to the economy and get what they deserve in return. They can also get less than they deserve.
Americans deserve an economy where anybody who wants to work or needs to work can find a good job. Jobs that give people freedom, independence, a higher degree of feeling more secure and a satisfactory sense of self-worth. People deserve a rapidly expanding economy in which they can display their multifaceted skills of organization, multitasking, intelligence, toughness , strength and persistence to name a just a few. People deserve an expanding economy where they can compete with the best of them if they so choose, or to have a partner who operates in an opportunity-laden economic environment replete with good pay and good opportunity so that both the individual, the individuals partner and any family members needs and goals can best be met.
People don't deserve an economy that grew slower this year than last year, and slower last year than the year before that. People have pay ground that needs to be made up. The trendline is going the WRONG WAY in order for that to happen. See http://evilblackeconomist.blogspot.com/2... weekly earnings 2008 to 2012. It was just this summer when it was wrongly and disingenuously suggested that if you're not of the government -- you're doing just fine. See www.huffingtonpost.com/.../obama-private...... -- this with a quarter of 100 million American unemployed or underemployed. This is the classic denial in the face of reality. We know this is not what "just fine" looks like. This appears to be from someone who seems to believe if he says it, it must be true.
But this mismatch between rhetoric and reality doesn't have to be. We can silence this endless finger-pointing and endless diversionary tactics - from dogs on roofs to someone dressed like a bird. Enough, enough, enough already, of having one's leg "watered-on" only to hear the response -"Don't worry - it's just raining.".
In early October 2012, CNN asked Economists for their take as to WHO would be better for the economy. Between a President Mitt Romney or a President Obama, a President Mitt Romney was the Economists preferred choice by a ratio of 3 to 1. Seventeen economists were asked. Five opted out. A large majority of 9 maintained that a President MITT ROMNEY would be BEST FOR THE ECONOMY, while only 3 out of 12 thought Mr Obama would.

Its not just a majority of Economists who say a change will do us good. It's not just capable businessman and United States Naval Academy Graduate H Ross Perot who tells us change will do us good. Its not just Chairwoman and Chief Executive Officer of Hewlett-Packard for six years Carly Fiorina who tells us a change will do us good. And in a survey of 501 executives, its not just ceos, presidents, and managing directors that pick a President Romney as better for the growth and success of business, while only 20 percent said Mr. Obama. See http://politics-news.nationaljournal.com... Recent Gallup Poll tells us more registered-voter-Americans want to see a President Mitt Romney rather than a President Obama. See http://www.gallup.com/poll/157817/electi....
Again, Mr Obama presides over some quarter of 100 million Americans who are un-employed or under-employed. As he presides, he says he'll cut the deficit in half and proceeds to balloon it to 16 trillion dollars and compounding daily. We remember that Mr. Obama rightly implied that he understood that if he can't fix this thing (the economy), he, too, suggested there'd be a change coming to the highest office in the land -- he'd be removed by the voters pen. He was right to say this.
His removal from office via the stroke of The Voter's pen is THE real path to hope and change that the majority of economists and others in-the-know when it comes to things economic, predict. Men and women alike deserve that kind of hope and change.
Det_Munch is there a reason why in your post when telling us about all the different people that showed up to vote the only ethnic background you posted was Muslim? I'd imagine there was Blacks and Hispanics and Italians and Irish and whomever. Just a question.
I bet today was the first time in years that the Obama welfare army was awake before the crack of noon....
Karl Rove was calling New Hampshire to Romney last night. Early numbers put Obama ahead 65% to 33%
Either these Fox news guys are off their rocker or there's going to be some king of huge turnaround. Not looking good for Romney in first swing state NH.
chuck333
I guess that was unintentional and I didn't mean it the way it sounded - yeah there were blacks, hispanics and I'm sure Catholics, Protestants and Mormons and Italians and Irish but I never saw a Muslim at a polling place before. Not even in Chicago. Those that I posted about earlier were those that I saw in the general area where I was standing. We have a pretty large population of Muslims here and I guess it should not have surprised me in the least. My apartment complex is right next to the area Mosque. We all got a chuckle from this one mom; she came with her son and it was his first time voting. She was sorry she didn't bring her phone or camera to take a picture of him on this "special occassion". The poor kid nearly died of embarrassment! What I was trying to say it was a cross section of America and the rain didn't stop anyone. It was good to see. It was better than listening to the pundits, experts, polls, political ads, etc. because THAT is what matters - the people.
Pretty sad when an incumbent president is in for the fight of his life. That should tell you a lot..
Obama
Rove and tea nuts can not face reality Obama won just like the polls and the British sports books predicted.
