Roadwork to affect I-15 traffic overnight in North Las Vegas

Some northbound lanes of Interstate 15 will be closed Monday night through Tuesday morning due to bridge construction in North Las Vegas.

The left lanes of I-15 north will be closed from Lake Mead Boulevard to Cheyenne Avenue beginning at 9 p.m. Monday and will reopen at 5 a.m. Tuesday.

The right lanes of I-15 north will be closed along the same stretch beginning at 9 p.m. Tuesday and will reopen 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

These lane closures will allow construction crews to remove temporary barrier rails on the North Fifth Street Bridge overpass over I-15. The $30 million bridge improvement project is expected to be completed in 2013.

Funding for North Las Vegas' North Fifth Street Arterial Project comes from the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada. Target Construction is the bridge contractor.
