Wouldn’t it be great if someone would refashion your favorite Italian dishes to create fresh, lighter versions, perfect for summer, maybe with an emphasis on grilling?
Frank Pellegrino, Jr., of the legendary Rao’s restaurant family, has done it with his new cookbook, Rao’s on the Grill, and he’ll be signing the book and doing some cooking demos in the coming days at local Whole Foods stores. Here’s the schedule:
June 5, 6-8 p.m. in Henderson at 100 S. Green Valley Parkway.
June 6, 6-8 p.m. in Summerlin at 8855 W. Charleston Blvd.
June 7, 6-8 p.m. at Town Square, 6689 Las Vegas Blvd. South.
Rao’s, of course, is an iconic East Harlem dining destination, opened by Pellegrino’s family in 1896. The Las Vegas version of Rao’s made its debut at Caesars Palace six years ago. Rao’s on the Grill translates some of the restaurant’s most popular dishes and family recipes, such as Uncle Vincent’s Lemon Chicken, from the traditional Italian kitchen to the patio for summer grilling fun. See—and taste—for yourself at Whole Foods this week.
