After 3 1/2 years starring in a Las Vegas striptease spectacular, blonde bombshell and Las Vegas ambassador Holly Madison will complete her run with “Peepshow” at Planet Hollywood on Dec. 30. The official announcement was made moments ago: Holly took on the role of Bo Peep in June 2009 to rave reviews and because of overwhelming demand extended what was originally intended to be a short run.
“Performing in ‘Peepshow’ has honestly been a dream come true,” said Holly, who was recently named Miss Atomic Bomb 2012. “I’m so proud to have made a mark in Las Vegas with this amazing show and am looking forward to celebrating ‘Peepshow’ with my fans through the end of the year.”
Dazzling audiences and critics alike, Holly was dubbed “Las Vegas’ newest vixen,” and reviewers described her as “the hottest thing in Las Vegas.” At her final curtain call, the star of “The Girls Next Door” and “Holly’s World” will have performed more than 1,000 shows.
“We have thoroughly enjoyed having Holly Madison grace our stage,” says Scott Zeiger, Co-CEO of BASE Entertainment. “We’re very proud of our partnership, knowing that together ‘Peepshow’ and Holly have modernized and empowered the iconic image of the Las Vegas showgirl.
“We hope Holly will someday return to our show.”
No word yet if Josh Strickland will stay with the show or depart at the end of the year, as well. He’s always talked with me of staying there as long as Holly did but would return to Broadway if she left.
“Peepshow” was conceived and created by Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell and grew out of his annual Broadway Bares fundraisers. Original Planet Hollywood owner Robert Earl gambled with the BASE Entertainment to bring the show to Las Vegas.
“Peepshow” premiered at Planet Hollywood in March 2009 with “General Hospital” actress and “Dancing With the Stars” Season 1 champion Kelly Monaco as Bo Peep and Spice Girl Mel B as Peep Diva, her guide into womanhood. Singer and “Celebrity Apprentice” contestant Aubrey O’Day was another celebrity guest star in the racy romp that celebrates sexy striptease.
I’ve learned that Holly won’t talk about her decision to quit for a while as talks are underway with Hollywood producers for a new TV project in L.A. that’s not reality TV related.
In our Wicked Whispers & Racy Rumors in Strip Scribbles on Wednesday, we hinted at the changes and now presume her previous understudy Angel Porrino will switch over from her weather balloon act at “Absinthe” at Caesars Palace to take on the role of Bo Peep.
