Tell us what the counselor is saying in the May edition of the Smithereens Cartoon Caption Contest.

What should a marriage counselor tell a couple divided by politics? According to you, the Sun's readers, he would say they can live in peace. Just put both bumper stickers on the car.

We asked readers to fill in the blank on the above cartoon, provided by the Sun's Mike Smith. We picked our five favorites, and the voters picked the best: "You know the car actually is big enough for two bumper stickers, right?" submitted by user Vegastony, who will receive an autograph copy of the cartoon with the winning caption.

This election was a blowout, with Vegastony getting 65 percent of the votes.

In second place, with 15 percent of the votes, was a caption submitted by user Boftx: "At least you're sitting together in the same room willing to talk about your problems with each other. That's more than can be said about your candidates."

Third place goes to William King-Lewis, with 12.5 percent of the ballots: "Did you two not read each other's online profiles before getting hitched?"

In the final two spots were, "You may want to agree on buying Facebook stock instead," also submitted by Vegastony and, "Maybe you should ignore the extremes and meet in the middle," submitted by Rudyk.

Thanks, everyone, for participating. Congratulations to the winners, and come back next month for another exciting edition of the Smithereens Cartoon Caption Contest.
