Expect a cool, blustery weekend before things warm up Memorial Day

An unusually cool start to Memorial Day weekend will quickly give way to sunny skies and temperatures in the 90s on Monday.

Las Vegans can expect a blustery Friday, with winds gusting up to 50 mph this afternoon before gradually lessening overnight, National Weather Service meteorologist Mike Kennedy said.

A low pressure system over central California is expected to move into the valley Saturday, bringing with it cooler temperatures, Kennedy said. Saturday’s high is expected to be 74 degrees, about 20 degrees cooler than normal, he said.

Temperatures will begin rising on Sunday, with highs in the mid-80s.

On Memorial Day, expect plenty of sunshine, with temperatures predicted to be in the low 90s.
