The Donald isn’t ready to leave presidential politics behind just yet.
Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is slated to be in Las Vegas on Tuesday at a fundraiser hosted by Donald Trump at Trump Towers, a source has confirmed.
National news organizations are reporting former Speaker Newt Gingrich will also be in attendance.
Tuesday is — at least symbolically — a key date for Romney. Although Romney is the only Republican still actively campaigning in GOP primary elections, Tuesday will be the moment he’s expected to pick up the crucial final delegates to become the party’s nominee.
Texas primary voters head to the polls on Tuesday. At stake are 155 national delegates.
According to estimates by the New York Times, Romney has 1,076 delegates. He needs 68 more to reach the magic number — 1,144 — to win the nomination.
The Trump fundraiser is a private event. Admission is gained with a minimum $2,500 contribution to the campaign.
No word yet on whether Romney will be attending any public events in Las Vegas during his trip or whether he will publicly address the Texas results.
The event won’t be the first time Romney and Trump have appeared together.
Just days before the Nevada caucuses in February, Romney accepted Trump’s endorsement at a rather awkward and brief press conference at Trump Towers.
“There are some things you just can’t imagine in your life,” Romney said as he accepted the endorsement. “This is one of them.”

All the idiots gathering for Myth
Mitts new friend is the Birther from new York
Kiss the Birther ring, Mitt. You legitimize birtherism and its deranged adherents at your own peril.
Birther party with Mitt and the Don! WooT LoL
What is it with always referring to him in the third person? "The Donald?" It's pretty creepy when even he does it....
Anyways, I just hope at that fund raising dinner event on Tuesday, somebody hands Romney a barber's scissors and points over at Trump with his oh so perfectly coifed single strand of hair wound around his head, do it, Romney, I dare ya....
