Body found

Metro Police found a body Tuesday near the College of Southern Nevada's Henderson campus after a man walked into the Clark County Detention Center and confessed to a murder.

Ricardo Perez, 19, was booked into the detention center on counts of battery with a deadly weapon, murder with a deadly weapon and unrelated traffic warrants, police said. He’s being held without bail.

Police were called to the jail’s parking garage Tuesday afternoon, when Perez told authorities where to find the body of a homicide victim, authorities said.

Several hours later, Metro and Henderson Police located the deceased victim in a remote desert area near College Drive and U.S. 95, authorities said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity, cause and manner of death.

Anyone with information is asked to call Metro’s homicide section at 702-828-3521 or, to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.

  1. So the police "FOUND" the body after the perp told them where it was. The reporter might want to look up the word "found" in any handy dictionary. Shoddy reporting, but the headline works.

  2. Gee, twould (as in it would) be nice if K-12 weeded out some of those who insist on taking and killing. Ever notice how if they're gonna do something to get themselves shot (or incarcerated for life) they usually get it done by age 30 or 35. OK so this guy lost it. Predictable. Any young "man" who has an attitude that it's all about him, that he can take whatever he wants or "needs" is useless and actually dangerous. Doubt that there is much "reform" in attitude in any person who.... Although, I have heard an occasional adult man mention that (he realizes) he was a bid self-absorbed when younger. If we could just fix that attitude. (Yes, many women / girls have it too.) If we could fix it, we'd stop about 95% of sexual assaults, manslaughters, murders, physical assaults, robberies, property crimes.....
