A 71-year-old Las Vegas man fatally struck Wednesday afternoon by a dump truck has been identified as Dennis Michael Grady, according to the Clark County coroner’s office.
Grady was riding a motorcycle when he apparently fell off and was run over by the dump truck, which left the scene, Metro Police said. The incident happened about 2:45 p.m. near the intersection of Boulder Highway and Nellis Boulevard.
Grady was riding a 2001 Harley-Davidson motorcycle north on Boulder Highway when he was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the road, police said.
Witnesses told officers that a dump truck ran over the man and continued driving, police said. Grady was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers located a truck that matched the witness description, police said. The driver’s name has not been released, as the investigation continues, police said.
The death was the 53rd traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
