Letter to the editor:

Give credit where it’s due

President Barack Obama has taken criticism from his opponents about his decision to kill Osama bin Laden. The mention of this in a political rally has sparked the comments. Former President George W. Bush used the capture of Saddam Hussein in his political ads during his re-election campaign in 2004. Former Presidents Bush and Clinton missed opportunities to get bin Laden for different reasons. Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates stated at the time it was a gutsy decision for President Obama to focus on getting bin Laden. Give credit where credit is due. Borrowing from former Yankees catcher Yogi Berra, it ain’t bragging if you did it.
