Asked which fighter on the upcoming Memorial Day weekend card at MGM Grand Garden Arena had the most to lose, UFC President Dana White came to a resolute conclusion. “I’d probably have to say (Frank) Mir,” White said after a recent press conference. “Mir’s been in so many title fights and held it twice.” Mir, the 32-year-old local, fights in a heavyweight championship bout for the fifth time in his career in the main event of UFC 146 on May 26. I think it's obvious that UFC is starting to hit a wall when it comes to competitors. The big names are gone and nothing is really replacing the the Chuck Lidells, Randy Coutures, Tito Ortiz's etc.. Think of heavyweight boxing in particular and boxing in general. Outside of Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao I really can't think of anyone. There aren't anymore Sugar Ray Leonards, Marvin Haglers, Tommy Hearns, Roberto Durans, Ali, Frazier, Foreman etc. So, until Dana White figures this one out, UFC will never be the number 1 sport in the world that he invisions.
