Five-vehicle crash sends two Metro officers to hospital

Two Metro Police officers were taken to the hospital Wednesday after their patrol car was hit in a five-vehicle crash on Russell Road and Arville Street.

The collision happened about 4:28 p.m. on Russell Road and Rogers Street, police said. During the chain reaction, an unmarked police car was rear-ended, police said.

One person was taken to the Spring Valley Hospital with minor injuries, police said.

The two officers who were traveling in the same car were transported to University Medical Center with minor injuries, police said.

No further details were immediately available.
